Dr. Alexis Monrow – Human female
Lieutenant, multi-species specialist, xenobiologist, and biochemist
Temporarily attached to Deep Space Nine, Bajoran Sector
Dr. Alexis “Alex” Monrow originally came to the station as a temporary supplement to the medical staff during Bashir’s absence on Cardassia.
Most of Monrow’s career has been spent “on call” and ranging the galaxy. She’s dealt with emergency situations all over the Federation and sometimes beyond its borders. She’s been in plenty of rough situations, and has learned to land on her feet with whatever she has to deal with. Alex has an intense curiosity about the unknown, especially alien species, and how the outside universe will impact on the world she knows. She continues to study various philosophies as a way of understanding other beings and cultures.
Alex has a wide variety of professional and personal skills – a sort of “jane-of-all-trades” – but takes special pride in her cooking, which she sees as a logical extension of her biochemistry specialty. She quickly establishes relationships with others, but those relationships can be superficial, in part because she knows how abruptly she might have to move on.
Like so many who come to the station, she has a history that will impact on her future and on the lives of those around her.
