In the midst of the ongoing arts festival, we finally see just who
Kaoron's mother is, and learn a little bit of his life story, and what
might happen in his future, while at the same time hearing the tragic
tale of a Cardassian soldier and a Bajoran civilian who fell in love,
and the fate of their child.
