David Kuhlman – Human male
Ensign, Deep Space Nine, Bajoran Sector

Ensign Kuhlman was born and raised on Earth, the youngest generation of a traditional military family. Various ancestors served with distinction in Starfleet back to the Earth/Romulan War and earlier. Kuhlman is expected to have a similarly honorable and note-worthy career. In fact, he’s never considered anything else.

Kuhlman attended Starfleet Academy in San Francisco; his flight training assignment was aboard the Courageous, a Defiant-class vessel. He was sent to Deep Space Nine upon graduation, just after the end of the Dominion War. Kuhlman generally serves in communications or tactical, and is just as capable aboard the Defiant as in Ops.

Kuhlman is very athletic, enjoying a number of sports, including baseball (another family tradition, along with serving in Starfleet). The young man also enjoys music, and plays several instruments. He is loyal, dedicated, takes pride in his skills, and is determined to excel in whatever he does. At times, however, Kuhlman is bound by tradition and expectations in ways he doesn’t even realize. Being stationed on Deep Space Nine will be a challenge to him in many ways.
