Nicky Cade

Nicky Cade (aka Joo) was born in 1980 in Sussex, England, and has remained there ever since. She owns one cat, three African Violets, and a stubborn computer.

She enjoyed most subjects at school, but her favourite was undoubtedly English, with history, geography, and art not far behind. She also completed two A Levels in English Literature and History, and has remained something of a history buff; she is especially fond of Ancient British and Roman history.

As for her interests, the main one is (of course) Star Trek, and Deep Space Nine in particular. Although she also likes the other Trek series, it was Deep Space Nine’s characters and storytelling that won her over. She quickly identified Dr. Bashir as her favourite character of all - and just as quickly became a fan of Alexander Siddig (she is a member of Far Beyond the Stars, his official fan club, and is loving every second of it). She achieved her ambition of meeting Sid in May 2001.

Having always enjoyed writing, she began to write fanfic based on Deep Space Nine, producing various novel-length and short stories. As well as this, she is a member of the Niners, contributing to ‘What You Come Back To’, DS9’s virtual Season 8. She is also a co-author of “Enhanced”, with Christy Linnell.
