Lieutenant Kaoron
- Male Vulcan/Romulan
Science Officer, Deep
Space Nine, Bajoran Sector
Despite the fact that he was
raised on Vulcan by his mother, Lady T'Lara, Lieutenant Kaoron is also
half Romulan by his father, Alaxiol, who defected from the Empire and sought
asylum with the Federation. T'Lara was on assignment with the Galaxy starship
USS Entrophy when she met her future husband. Alaxiol left to marry T'Lara
and stayed on Vulcan. Kaoron was born a year later. Alaxiol, died of a
mysterious disease unknown to the Federation, when Kaoron was Four. T'Lara
raised Kaoron by herself. Kaoron was pretty much was raised on the Vulcan
culture of pure logic, but T'Lara also made sure Kaoron was educated in
the Romulan culture, so Kaoron has not had to fight his Romulan genetic
heritage.
Kaoron considered following
his mother's career field and joining Starfleet, becoming a science officer.
Of course, he passed all his courses with high grades, and was stationed
on many ships and starbases. He has been an exceptional officer. But he
is not a typical Vulcan being that he was raise to accept his Romulan heritage,
and not to shun it. Sometimes, Kaoron's quirkiness, anger and passions
to show through. Sometimes his emotions have been a hindrance, but most
of the time it has been his positive influence. Like most Vulcans, Kaoron
was betrothed at the age of seven to a Vulcan female, and was married at
his first pon farr, but after a couple of years, his wife was ashamed of
his Romulan side and divorced him, Vulcan style.
Kaoron is unmarried at the
moment. He prefers it this way. Although logical and efficient in the typical
Vulcan style, Kaoron does collect poetry from around the galaxy, and has
some strange quirk. He has a great sense of humor and loves telling jokes.
